Valentine Daze

Be My Valentine At last, the flu bug has been beaten into submission here. Family members are back to work and school, and I am going to go sleep for 6 hours to recover myself - LOL
Valentine’s Day is THREE WEEKS from TODAY! (All the male readers experience temporary blindness - LOL)
I’ve decorated the ol’ blog - added a countdown (I will send the code to anyone who wants it) changed the banner and colors a bit (still tweaking the colors some, it’s hard to find colors that look good and provide enough contrast to show up well.)

Delighted, she opened it--only to find a book entitled "The meaning of dreams".

I dont have a joke but have been running a contest for Valentines. I will say I wasn't expecting over 50 entries but am so happy it turned out well. :)

Hi,

I don't know why, but Blogger has locked me out of my old blog. It still accepts comments, but I can't get it to publish anything new, or make any changes to the template. I even attempted to use FTP to upload it to my domain, but that also failed.

I struggled with it for days, writing letters to Blogger Help and Support, all for naught, so I’m starting over at:

I would love the code for the countdown that you have-it's awesome. I bet I could rig it for just about anything so it would be very useful but I would first use it for valentines day-even though I am a male-Nice blog!

Trench Warfare In Our Driveway

We have a gravel driveway that is a thousand feet long and ten miles deep. It is paved with gravel. That is until the Great Rock Eating Phantom that lives underground wants a midnight snack. We'll get a new load of rock spread on it, and soon, the gravel is disappearing into the ground. Irregularly of course, so that the lovely white, smooth surface becomes lumpy and pitted. We've been feeding the GREP for 20 years now, and there is no indication of his appetite diminishing. The first few years, we thought, "Well, sooner or later the gravel will have been shoved into the earth completely to the bedrock, and THEN we won't have to dump so much on so often." Here's a story from my hippie days that should brighten everyone's day. Somewhere deep in a storage room in Washington D.C. there may be a picture of my boobs. It was 1971 and the war in Vietnam was still going on.  College campuses across this great land had protest rallies to shout and demand that we get our troops out of there.  (Why don't we still do that?  But I digress.)   So I joined a large contingent of teenagers in a university courtyard to listen to folk singers and speakers filling our young, impressionable minds with anti-war sentiments.  Then the rumor spread. Someone said that there were men in suits on top of the nearby building taking photographs.
